Opportunities to Learn for Men & Women January-May 2010

Learning groups are a place where adults can learn interactively and in relationship with one another. OBC is offering these learning groups with the intentional goal of equipping adults in
a way that leads to the building up of the body of Christ. It is our hope that many of us will engage in one of these opportunities as we believe that learning groups are an integral part of our vision here at OBC.
You can register for learning groups in advance online by following the links below under each course or by contacting the OBC office. If there is a book cost, or if childcare is offered, it will is noted in the brochure. All learning groups take place at OBC. Any questions can be directed to Julianne August, Director of Adult Ministries.

Living God's Story -
Teacher TBA
Sundays, 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. | May 2, 9, 16
As Christians we are called to develop friendships and take opportunities to share our story and God's story. If you're like many Christians, you really want to share your faith, but you don't know how. God wants to use you the way you are - your interests, your personality, your strengths, and even some of your weaknesses. You'll be amazed at what the Holy Spirit can use to help you confidently and creatively relate to your friends and introduce them to Jesus. This course will help you develop a biblical understanding of God's love for people. Uncover the 'power of story' while you write your own faith story, learning how to tell it concisely and effectively. You will also be encouraged and equipped to initiate spiritual conversations in an authentic way. *Registration will open in March 2010.
*Children's programming (BLAST) is available during the course.

Baby Steps: Walking Spiritually with Your Kids (Ages 0-Grade 5) -
Kevin Van Dyken
Sundays, 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. | May 2, 9, 16
"How do I know what is the best way to encourage my children spiritually?" If you are asking that question then join other parents as we journey for three weeks through the BABY STEPS curriculum. We will look at the role that prayer, devotions, and serving play in the spiritual development of children. These sessions engage us in the scripture surrounding these important spiritual disciplines as well as allow for small group discussion times, role playing, and Q&A. Additional resources will be highlighted during our time together.
*Registration will open in March 2010.
*Children's programming (BLAST) is available during the course.
