We are examining a few Old Testament passages that take us back to a time in history when people were waiting for and anticipating the first arrival of Jesus.
Many people are impressed with
Jesus just as they are with Buddha, Moses, Socrates, and Muhammed. For many of us, Jesus is important but not central. He has prestige, but he is not preeminent. Jesus is so much more.
Most people think of Paul’s letter to the Romans in terms of what it says about individuals being forgiven and accepted by God. That is part of the story, but Romans 12-14 makes it clear that God’s intention goes far beyond that to include the creation by grace of a community of disciples who display the kingdom of God in this present world. This series looks at Paul’s description of the distinct community that we are called to be.
You’ve heard the phrase “big things come in small packages.” Each Sunday we’ll be studying one of these short New Testament letters. But don’t let their size fool you! These books have much to teach us about what it means to follow Christ.
There come times in all of our lives when we
are in need of spiritual rest. During this
series we look at passages and stories from
Scripture that talk about how we can find
this rest in God because of who he is and
what he can do in our lives.
Some people wonder why the cross and the empty tomb matter. It is one thing to acknowledge them as historical facts. It is another to realize the critical difference that these events continue to make.
The book of Acts is the story of a unique beginning of a very important group of people called the church: us. In this series we relive our beginning through key sermons and events from the book of Acts, discovering foundational theological truths that will guide us on the mission that Jesus has given us.
